Somewhere Near Simplicity

Somewhere Near Simplicity, 4/8/2016, Deon Mumple

I’m as old as old and new as new,
Fresh as death, stale as an ingenue.
Easy as an old oak tree to sway-
Treat me like I was born yesterday.
I’m just as clear as burgundy wine,
And as shallow as a diamond mine,
I’m as deep as puddles after rain,
My thoughts are normal.  Life is insane.
Don’t trust me more than you would trust you.
I’m as new as old and old as new.
